BreakOut: Ninja

A version of the classic arcade game Breakout, but in 3D, with some of its own features and imbued with the Japanese spirit. Listening to Japanese music and overlooking the beautiful Fuji-san, you as a shinobi will take on a gang of kung fu fighters using your trusty shuriken. Ganbate!

This game was created by me as a practical work in the Game Development Middleware course that has been taught at Charles University in Prague.

Tutorial:

The basic rules are the same as in the classic Breakout - by deflecting a projectile with your controlled platform, make it hit the platforms from above so that it breaks them.

To complete the level, you must destroy all the platforms (except for the one on which Xiong is located, this is optional). Each level is randomly generated (which means the placement of characters is different each run), the number of levels is unlimited ("endless game"). The number of points you scored is transferred between levels, and the number of lives when moving to a new level is restored to the maximum. Accordingly, if you have spent all your lives, then you have lost and the game ends - you have to start over.

Your platform is controlled using the keys A (movement to the left) and D (movement to the right). Shuriken is launched by pressing the left mouse button. He will fly in the direction the platform is moving.

Some of the platforms are just empty platforms, for breaking them you will just get points. On five of them there are kung fu fighters, breaking the platform on which they are located will lead to different things:

Dashi

The eldest of the Five. When you break the platform below him, he will respond by launching two shuriken at you. However, you can use them to your advantage.

Ci

If you break the platform below her, it will cause your shuriken to become several times larger.

XiaoMao

This trickster, on the contrary, is able to significantly reduce the size of your shuriken.

Jiantou

This homely guy has learned the secrets of gravity and is able to reduce the weight of your shuriken, which is why it will move noticeably faster.

Xiong

The most dangerous opponent, although you can’t tell by looking at him. He'll just take one of your lives.
